Newcastle Crown Court has told a woman that she makes too much noise whilst having sex. 48 year old Caroline Cartwright has been drowning out neighbour’s televisions with high decibel love acts with her husband, Steve. The judge said that the volume of the sex meant that Cartwright had forgone her right to privacy. Her noises were said to have disturbed many a passerby and neighbour. The sounds registered 47 decibels, which is apparently the same as a living room conversation.

The woman was earlier banned from making loud noises with her partner, appealing to the conviction which she has lost. In court the noises Cartwright made were described as being like “murder” and “unnatural”. One neighbour said she was frequently late for work having slept in to catch up on sleep she lost during the night – due to the boisterous sex noises.
